Cuba: Privileged Country for Having a National Assembly with the Best of its People

CIENFUEGOS, Cuba, Apr 18 (ACN) The delegate to the Provincial Assembly of the People's Power and Agriculture Directive of Cienfuegos, Joan Sarduy said on Wednesday that Cuba is a privileged country for having National Assembly made up of humble men and women.

After learning on the makeup of the 9th Legislature of the National Assembly, she told the Cuban News Agency that the composition of its members, with people of all color, ages and origin is an achievement of Cuban democracy.

To get to where we are today, a process with the people was carried out by the delegates in which made a careful study of how the population lived and on the programs in each one of the municipalities and people's council, said Sarduy.

She said that one of the pillars in the strength of the new National Assembly is its structure, nobleness of its members, genuine representatives of the interests of the people in a process of continuity of the Cuban Revolution.

Sarduy added that the Cuban people are following the news and it's an opportunity of demonstrating to the world how we construct our democracy and how the people respect how much is being done in the country.

During Wednesday's session, which was followed by the Cuban press, Sarduy, like the rest of the population learned about Esteban Lazo was ratified as President of the maximum government entity during the 9 th Legislature of the National Assembly.

Ana Maria Mari Machaco was also ratified as Vice President and Miriam Brito Sarroca as Secretary and later deputy Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez was approved as candidate for President of the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba.
