HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 5 (ACN) The 50th anniversary of the assassination of civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr in the U.S., was marked in Havana with a ceremony held by people committed to the fair causes of the world.
The ceremony included the laying of a wreath at the monument raised to the memory of the US reverend at a centrally located Havana park.
During the ceremony, organized by the Martin Luther King Memorial Center, the director of the Dulce Maria Loynaz Cultural Center, Victor Fowler described Luther as an example of compromise, strength and Christian love.
Martin Luther was also an analyst of US society in the moment he lived and he was also able to identify the reasons of poverty, discrimination and social inequality, Fowler said.
