HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 3 (ACN) Cuban President Raul Castro met on Monday with Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Adel Bin Ahmed Al Jubeir, who is paying an official visit to Cuba.
The Cuban head of state and the top government Saudi Arabian official highlighted the positive level of bilateral relations between their countries and their will to keep strengthening such links. They also addressed international and regional issues, according to Granma newspaper.
The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Saudi ambassador to Cuba Faisat Muslat G. Almandeel and by the general director of the Saudi foreign minister's office M. Alangari.
Cuban officials attending the talks included Government vice-president Ricardo Cabrisas and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.
In a previous meeting with the Saudi visitor, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said that the government and people of Cuba welcome the projects opened with the Saudi Development Fund and are pleased with the progress of bilateral relations in areas like the medical services that the island is offering the Arab nation.
Al Jubeir on his part said he was happy with his visit to Havana and that the Saudi government is looking at further expanding bilateral relations. He explained that both nations are currently working to increase investment and cooperation in different areas.
