Miguel Diaz-Canel Highlights Role of Vanguard of the Cuban PressHAVANA, Cuba, Mar 14 (ACN) Cuba's First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel highlighted on Wednesday, Day of the Cuban Press, the main role of the sector in the development of the country in addition to its role as vanguard throughout the years.

After handing out the National Jose Marti Journalism Award to seven professionals with important trajectory, Diaz-Canel Bermudez valued the virtues and identity of the national press and extended congratulations to all members of the sector.

He highlighted that everything the Revolution does must be explained, but not with dogmas or paradigm but with emotions and motivations.

He added that the more the press is capable of expressing the idea in a more coherent manner, the message of understanding the existing complex processes will reach the people.

The First Vice President of the Council of States and Ministers also said that with the current colonialist attempts of imposing a standard culture, journalists must work towards a cultural and historic essence with the objective of offering the audience with the tools to puzzle out the truth.

Diaz-Canel pointed out that in the current conditions the relationship between generations of reporters are very important because it allows the articulation of the expertise of the most experienced with the abilities of the newly graduate to dominate the new technologies.

He urged the young journalists to continue with the uncertainties discussed in the national encounter held last March 5th to the 7th to continue constructing dialog to improve the Cuban press.
