BAYAMO, Cuba, Mar 7 (ACN) The Cuban people will vote for unity during the second stage of the general elections in the country to take place on Sunday, March 11, according to Esperanza Riveron Brizuelas, who lives in the eastern city of Bayamo.
Riveron Brizuelas is a retired Lte Colonel of the Ministry of the Interior who said that voting for delegates to the Provincial Assemblies and deputies to the National Assembly of the People's Power will guarantee the future of the socialist country.
She recalled that Jose Marti founded the Cuban Revolutionary Party on April of 1892 with the objective of unifying the revolutionary forces, one of the main causes of the previous failed independence movements.
The young people were in charge of preserving and increasing the achievements of the nation on January 1st, 1959 and in order to obtain it, our main principle is unity of the people, said Riveron, who is an active member of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution.
Thousands of voters in the eastern province of Granma, said Esperanza, will be present on March 11th to vote for the continuation of the Cuban revolutionary process and the legacy of leader of the Revolution, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
Next Sunday over 631 thousand voters in the eastern territory will have the chance to vote for the delegates to the Provincial Assembly of the People's Power, and deputies to the National Assembly.
