HOLGUIN, Cuba, Jan 31 (ACN) The relationship between the environment and heritage constitutes one of the objectives of the specialists of the Architects and Construction Engineers Association in the eastern province of Holguin.
Architect Oscar Bellido stressed to ACN on the needs and importance of the relationship in the management process of the urban layout for a comprehensive development in a sustainable harmony of human, symbolic, community, social, economic and environmental dimensions.
He explained that the action is part of the Holguin City of Parks project, which has been promoting since its creation in 2015, the tangible and intangible values of the culture of Holguin starting from its parks as its distinctive element.
Bellido pointed out that the deterioration produced by the impacts of the environment to the heritage buildings brings about a triple significance to its values be it cultural, economic resource and part its environmental characteristic.
It constitutes a priority for all institutions involved to achieve an effective control and evaluation system, he said, whose relationship must be managed from the integral urban scale and not in a precise manner by each architectural object.
The specialist insisted that besides the natural factors that have a repercussion against the good state of the heritage institutions, there are also other causes due to social indiscipline.
The key is to gain consciousness and rigor in enforcing the different regulations that protects the heritage in Holguin in order to construct a city as part of the urban development project, he concluded.
