HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 18 (ACN) The National Architects and Construction Engineers Association has the responsibility in designing and executing work to attract highly qualified professionals, said on Thursday in Havana the President of the National Institute of Water Resources, Ines Maria Chapman Waugh.
The also Member of the Council of State told ACN, that they can intervene in quality certification, including water management related with territorial legality which is not only the Physical Planning Institute, but also the central administration entities among them the Ministries of Construction, Industry and Energy and Mining.
She characterized as essential the role of the youth in each work and the influence of the Architects and Construction Engineers Association in their formation in order to gain national and international experience.
The President of the Water Institute went back in history when there was barely 6 million inhabitants and rainwater was collected but with the development of the aqueducts, the people stopped the practice, but can now be applied in institutions, firms, homes and isolated communities where we cannot reach with large and costly pipes.
Chapman Waugh spoke on Thursday during the first day of the 8th Congress of the National Architects and Construction Engineers Association inaugurated at Havana's Convention Center with close to 300 delegates and guests.
The training of new operators and learning skills centered the attention of the participants while the Construction Minister Rene Mesa Villafana urged to strengthening the inspection groups.
He also pointed out that, in coordination with his Ministry, control visits can be organized and the importance in elevating demand for quality.
The 8th Congress of the association, founded 35 years ago, will run until Saturday,
