ALBA is the public enemy of the Empire, says Bolivian ambassador

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 14 (ACN) The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Treaty of Trade of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP) has become the number one public enemy of the empire, said Juan Ramón Quintana, Bolivian ambassador to Cuba.

Speaking to the Cuban News Agency, the diplomat said that due to its transcendental historical value, this integration platform is the antithesis of the projects of disrepair that still pass through Latin American and Caribbean countries.
According to the Bolivian Ambassador, the initiative promoted by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and the Venezuelan Commander Hugo Chávez, has been the most intelligent, correct and politically necessary response for the peoples of the region to reach their independence once and for all.
He added that everything achieved within the framework of the ALBA-TCP is incalculable, not only in matters of social integration policy, but also in the defense of the sovereignty of each of its member states.
Quintana mentioned that the figures or statistics cannot reflect the inclusion favored in Latin America by this mechanism, founded on December 14, 2004 and composed of 11 countries.
He exemplified that thanks to ALBA-TCP initiatives, such as the Milagro and Barrio Adentro missions, millions of people in the continent have had eye surgery, and the same amount received medical assistance by the Cuban health brigades.
In coincidence with the celebration of its 13th anniversary, and seeking to coordinate actions, explore new opportunities for integration and reaffirm the commitment of unity, cooperation and solidarity in the current regional situation, ALBA-TCP today develops its XVI Political Council in this capital.
