Cuba appears in Group D of the 2018 Men's Volleyball World ChampionshipHAVANA, Cuba, Dec 1 (acn) Cuba was placed in Group D of the FIVB 2018 Men's Volleyball World Championship, based in Bulgaria and Italy, after the results of the draw held in the Italian city of Florence.

According to the FIVB website, Cubans share the Pool with the squads of Poland, defending champion, Bulgaria, local side, Iran, Asia monarch, Finland and Puerto Rico, and they will play in the city of Varna.
The team coached by Nicolas Vives won its World Cup ticket in the NORCECA qualifying tournament when defeating Puerto Ricans 3-0 as local.
Italy, Argentina, Japan, Belgium, Slovenia and the Dominican Republic will be in Pool A, while Brazil, Canada, France, Egypt, China and the Netherlands appear in Group B, and Pool C includes United States, Russia, Serbia, Australia, Tunisia and Cameroon.
The four best teams in the preliminary phase of each Pool will qualify to the next round, consisting of two groups of eight sides each.
Then, the first two squads in each group of that second stage will advance to semifinals, where the winners will subsequently fight for the gold medal.
