HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 1 (acn) Cuba and the Czech Republic signed on Wednesday in Havana a memorandum of understanding during the 3rd day of the International Trade Fair, FIHAV 2017 aimed at strengthening economic and commercial ties between both nations.
Cuba’s Foreign Trade and Investment Minister, Rodrigo Malmierca said that in conversations with the Czech Minister of Industry and Trade, Jiri Havickek and delegation identified potential in carrying out joint businesses.
There are sectors in which the Czech Republic has vast experience, like energy, including renewable, but it not the only one, and that is why, said Malmierca we have thought in the possibility of a business delegation from that country visiting us next year.
With these gestures, said Malmierca, we are reinforcing our economic and commercial ties.
Havickek characterized the meeting as positive and ratified the coincidence between both sides in the importance of strengthening the commercial contacts.
In this sense, he stressed that the signing of the memorandum represents a favorable moment as it allows us to create a helpful setting for mutual cooperation.
The Czech Minister stressed that not only in energy, but agriculture and the food industry.
The Czech Industry and Trade Minister added that they will not limit in exchanges in the agricultural sector but Cuba can take advantage of their technologies and stressed that their companies are interested in participating in the modernization of the Cuban economy.
