HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 2 (acn) The Cuban Workers Federation (CTC by its Spanish acronym) convened a national massive day to erase the aftermath of Hurricane Irma in a press release published in Trabajadores newspaper.
The note says:
The passage of the strong hurricane Irma by the national territory caused serious affectations in many areas, reason why responding to the call of Army General Raul Castro Ruz, and I quote:
"At this crucial moment, the CTC and the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP by its Spanish acronym), together with other mass organizations, must redouble their efforts to erase as soon as possible the aftermath of this destructive event."
The CTC National Secretariat calls on the workers to hold a Massive National Voluntary Working Day on October 7 in useful and necessary labors, aimed at promoting the tasks requiring a decisive effort, to continue providing the contribution to the recovery, mainly to food production, constructive works demanding our participation, sanitation in working centers, communities and cities, among other activities that are considered necessary.
The day will also serve as homage to the 50th anniversary of the fall in combat of Heroic Guerrilla and his fellow guerrillas.
