SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Sept 5 (ACN) The Provincial Defense Council and the 9 Municipal Defense Councils in Santiago de Cuba were activated due to the danger of Hurricane Irma.

Irma is currently a category 5 hurricane in the Saffir-Simpson scale and its estimated trajectory incudes the north of the eastern provinces starting on Thursday. It is necessary to follow the course and future evolution of this intense tropical hurricane.
