HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 8 (acn) The Meteorology Institute issued advisory number 6 on Tropical Storm Franklin.
Tropical Storm Franklin crossed over the central portion of the Yucatan Peninsula this afternoon and has continued to weaken. At 8pm Tuesday night, maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour with superior gusts and a central pressure that has increased.
At 6pm its central region was estimated at 20.3 degrees North Latitude and 90.6 degrees West Longitude, position that located the storm at some 45 kilometers north of the city of Campeche, Mexico.
It is moving west-northwest at 19 kilometers per hour. For the next 12 to 24 hours, experts predict that Franklin will continue moving west-northwest with few change in velocity and will move to the Bay of Campeche in the coming hours with a possibility of gaining in organization and intensity.
The next report on Tropical Storm Franklin will be issued at 6pm on Wednesday.
