Cuba to break losing streak at FIBA Women´s Americup 2017HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 9 (acn) Cuba will look today for its first win when facing Puerto Rico in the FIBA Women´s Americup 2017 running in Buenos Aires, Argentina, until August 13.

The Caribbean squad has suffered two losses so far in that contest, first in its debut against Canada (35-81); and then against Paraguay (66-69), according to FIBA official website.
So, they have to defeat Puerto Rico today and Mexico tomorrow and wait for a combination of other favorable results in this Group B, as only the best two teams of each Poole advance to semifinals.
This tournament is attended by 10 sides and grants three tickets to the World Cup to be held next year in Spain.
The last time Cuba won this tournament was in the edition of Xalapa, Mexico, in 2013 and two years ago in Edmonton, Canada; they ranked second when losing the final to the local side with score of 82-66.
