HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 4 (acn) At 2:58 pm yesterday the Network of Stations of the National Seismological Service registered a perceptible earthquake, located at 19.81 degrees North Latitude and 75.46 degrees West Longitude, 38 km southwest of the town of Caimanera, in the province of Guantanamo, and 47 km southeast of the city of Santiago de Cuba, with a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter scale and a depth of 46 km.
This is No. 13 perceptible earthquake of the year.
There are reports of perceptibility in the provinces of Guantanamo and Santiago de Cuba.
No material or human damages were reported at the time of issuing this information.
