HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 1 (ACN) Cuban lawmakers on Thursday backed the documents adopted by the 3rd Plenary Session of the Cuban Communist Party Central Committee, which aim at the country´s social and economic advancement.
During the second extraordinary session of the Cuban Parliament´s 7th Legislature, at Havana´s Conventions Center, the lawmakers ratified the documents entitled the Conceptualization Cuban Social and Economic Model and the modifications to the Guidelines of the Party´s Policy and the Revolution for the period 2016-2021.
Deputy Jose Luis Toledo, who heads the Parliament´s Constitutional and Legal Issues, said that the Basis for the Economic and Social Development Plan till 2030 will allow such planification, which will later be submitted to vote by the Parliament.
On this document about the Conceptualization of the Cuban model, the law makers suggested the creation of conditions that allow effective control of levels of concentration of capital, property and wealth.
They also suggested the revisio of concepts such as state functions and government functions, while they also addressed the strength of the Cuban education system and its impact on different sectors of society, they also tackled the importance of contol by the people at the entrepreneurial level and in other areas of society.
The lawmakers agreed on prioritizing attention to the youth in their professional and life projects, amidst the demographic situation and the aging of the Cuban population.
Both the documents on the Guidelines and the Conceptualization will be submitted to style revision to finally issued an official version.
