MATANZAS, Cuba, May 10 (acn) In midst of nonconformities due to a harvest that according to estimates this time will not be able to meet its plan of crude again, Matanzas rejoices with the fulfillment of 40,000 tons of refined sugar, amount that exceeds in 13,000 tons the historical production of Mario Muñoz refinery.
This entity thus became the first in the country to meet its plan of the current campaign, said Ricardo Sanchez, general director of the Sugar Company in this western province.
Sanchez considered as very positive the balance for the domestic economy achieved by the Mario Muñoz refinery, with a performance that allowed growing by 17,000 tons compared to the previous season.
Regarding the technical and economic plan for 2016-2017 harvest, Sanchez stated that three out of the four sugar mills are still operating and that places the province in a position to produce the same amount of sugar of last year and even exceed in 3 or 4 percent the 146,000 tons in 2015-2016 harvest.
He pondered the yield of Mexico sugar mill, an entity that, although it does not comply, has so far produced 31,500 tons of crude sugar, its highest amount of the last 25 years, without doubt a laudable balance.
