International Cuba Health Convention Dedicated to Fidel

Havana, Cuba, Apr 28 (acn) The International Cuba Health Convention to be held in Havana from April 16th to the 20th of 2018 will be dedicated to Fidel Castro architect of the country's achievements in health.

Dr. Ileana Morales, Director of Science and Technology of the Cuban Health Ministry told the press that over 2 thousand delegates, half from all continents will participate in the 3rd Edition of Cuba Health 2018.

Renowned health figures of the Pan American and World Health Organizations, prestigious universities and other international institutions have confirmed their participation in the event, said Dr. Morales, Executive Secretary of the Forum's Scientific Commission based at the Convention Center.

Sponsored by national and international organizations, the Convention includes a dozen collateral events and among its objectives is to debate on world, regional health and Cuba's experience, which will be a space of reflection, committed and oriented towards the discussion of relevant issues, he said.

Universal health for Sustainable development is the slogan of the event, which will reaffirm the need to consider an improvement of health among the population key to social development said Dr. Pastor Castell-Florit Serate President of the Scientific Commission.

The also Director of the National School of Public Health said that since he triumph of the Revolution, health is guaranteed to all free of charge and reiterated that health contributions to human development.

The main issues will be on universal and equitable access to health services, advances and challenges in prevention and the control of diseases; social determination, health environment and economy, international cooperation and the research and development in the field, among others.

Dr. Pedro Veliz, Director of the National Council of Scientific Health Societies announced that 63 societies that make up the institution will participate in the encounter and highlights the National Hygiene and Epidemiology Congress, Medical Informatics and the Forum of Parliamentarians.

Dr. Raquel Acosta, Vice President of MEDICUBA development, importing and exporting firm of medical products announced that Cuba Health 2018 will include a commercial fair where 90 foreign companies, including the US have expressed their interest in participating.
