HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 4 (ACN) Our commitment to defending and advancing this immense project, the biggest legacy of Fidel, which is the Revolution, must be permanently reaffirmed, said the first secretary of the Young Communist League Susely Morfa.
Morfa made its statement as the Young Communist League celebrates its 55 birthday on April 4 along with the Jose Marti Pioneer Children Organization which marks its 56 anniversary also today.
Speaking with reporters, Susely Morfa who is also member of the Cuban Communist Party Central Committee and the Council of State congratulated all children and young people on their anniversary.
The past few years have been marked by renovation, hard work and transformations aimed at updating and adapting student organizations and movements to the changes underway in the country in order to improve structures, performance and actions, Morfa said.
Over 60 thousand young people joined the Communist League in 2016, including many working in the emerging private and cooperative sectors, which was one of the achievements mentioned by Morfa, who said that there is still much to be done.
Crucial enough is the combined work with entities and institutions in charge of implementing public policies aimed at the formation of new generations, guaranteeing their projects of life, their professional objectives, under equal opportunities and the protection of their rights.
The Communist leader stressed the role being played by the young people in the economic programs, in education, sciences, culture, sports, health and the defense of the country.
Finally, Morfa call on the youth to think on how much can be and must be done by each one in order to keep the Revolution advancing and to keep celebrating on many upcoming Aprils.
