MATANZAS, Cuba, Mar 29 (acn) Trying Osmel Oliva, point guard of the Cuban basketball team, not to have a good performance will be essential in the strategy of Allen Jemmott, Matanzas head coach, during the unprecedented League final this team will hold against its similar of Pinar del Rio.
In the final for the crown of the Cuban Superior Basketball League (LSB by its Spanish acronym), scheduled to begin on Saturday, Jemmott would entrust Danny Torriente or Yuniskel Molina, two of his best defenders, the responsibility of marking the skillful Oliva.
Jemmott, former captain of the Cuba national side during the first decade of this century, already demonstrated his ability as coach in the semi-final against Villa Clara, in which he managed to reduce the effectiveness of ace Andy Boffil, currently one of the best Cuban players.
The LSB final will begin with two matches in Pinar del Rio, then will continue with three games in Matanzas, and will close with another two matches in Cuba´s westernmost province, if necessary.
