Cuban communist leader says youth will carry on Revolution

SANCTI SPIRITUS, Cuba, Mar 27 (acn) Susely Morfa, first secretary of Young Communist League (UJC by its Spanish acronym), said that we are not relay of the founding generation of the Cuban Revolution, but continuity.

On Sunday, during the national day of voluntary work in the province of Sancti Spíritus, Morfa told the press that Cuban youth is present in all stages, contributing through their actions to the economic and social development of the country.
Morfa pointed out that the UJC has enough reasons to celebrate its 55th anniversary, a birthday to which it has come up with great force, optimism and desire to do, to add ideas, wills and hearts to continue strengthening the Revolution every day and building socialism.
Although we still have a lot to do, she said, we reach our 55th anniversary with a stronger organization, since we have not only grown in members, but we are also focused on listening and responding to the proposals of young people from all sectors.
Since the 10th Congress of the UJC, we have developed five strategic assets in order to dialogue and discuss different issues where young entrepreneurs have also been included, she noted.
She also added that they will carry out other activities to celebrate the anniversary devoted to Ernesto Che Guevara, who helped founding the organization, because it is a way to pay the well-deserved tribute to the Heroic Guerrilla, because 2017 marks a century of his assassination.
