Granma, Cuba, Mar 2 (ACN) The St. Jean-Vianney School Dance group visited Granma province on Wednesday as part of activities organized by the Cuban Friendship Institute (ICAP by its Spanish acronym) and the Trois Rivieres Solidarity Committee from Quebec.
The representative of ICAP in Granma province, Ezequiel Morales, told ACN that the brigade will visit the city of Bayamo and Buey Arriba municipality where they will carry out socio-political and cultural activities.
He added that the members of the Canadian dance group will meet with the Serrana Television group, which is an audiovisual community project located in San Pablo de Yao and unique of its kind in the country where they reflect the life of the peasants in the area through documentaries.
Morales, who accompanied the visitors, highlighted that the brigade members will carry out animation presentations in the communities and share examples of audiovisuals work.
They will also do voluntary work at the 24 de Febrero Agricultural Production Center in San Pablo de Yao and exchange with children at the Guillermo Gonzalez and Aristides Perez Schools, both located in the mountain community.
The dance group, first time in Cuba, will also exchange with students and professors from the Manuel Munoz Cedeno Provincial Art School with the objective of learning about the cultural traditions in the eastern region.
The Trois Rivieres Solidarity with Cuba Committee was founded in 1973 and since its beginning carried out cooperation visits in the Eastern region which include donations to schools.
