Santiago de Cuba doctors to use computerized medical history

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 9 (ACN) Version 2.0 of the Imagis software was presented in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba for the use of doctors, as a modern medical history method in the context of the 24th anniversary next February 10th, of the Medical Biophysical Center (CBM) adscript to the University of Oriente.

Its creator, CBM researcher, Henry Blanco Lores told CAN that the new version for android technology allows fast reports from the radiology department, file each patients' x-rays adding quality to the diagnosis.

This is possible because it incorporates codes for the processing of the image on the bases of the results of the investigation carried out in the center in conjunction with the sector's professionals, he said.

Imagis is a data storage system and transmitter of Multi-model Medical Images created by a multi-disciplinary equipment in 2001 successfully installed in 35 hospitals in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador and ALBA member nations.

The CBM product also allows interaction among specialists in different provinces with the objective of deploying a network between hospitals in the eastern part of the country and five in Havana avoiding moving patients to the Cuban capital, said the specialist.

This idea has the cooperation of the Flamenco Inter-university Council (VLIR) and the Close the Gap Project added the veteran researcher.

As part of the celebrations for the anniversary of the prestigious institution, founded by the leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro with the mission of shaping the dreams that will benefit the population's health, the team will pay homage to the Comandante at Santa Efigenia Cemetery in Santiago de Cuba.

Swiss professor Erick Niesor will also offer conferences on patients with sick cell anemia, and Hipolito Carvajan, professor of the University of Oriente on the influence of the micro-structural evolution of hard materials before induced damages in service.

This responds on line with the research on the development of the CBM regarding the current analysis, rehabilitation, vascular sector, MRI and nuclear images, reduction of radiological doses and the production of software for image processing.

They will also sign an agreement in the framework of the scientific cooperation with the National Seismology Research Center.

The main activity will be held at the University of Oriente on Friday and the work of professionals will be recognized in these 24 years of existence.
