HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 30 (ACN) The La Guayabera 5.0 Technology Fair opened its doors on Thursday in Sancti Spiritus with a donation of four guayaberas to the heritage of the city and a concert of the Cofradia Duo. This event promotes the knowledge of the country's most authentic values through its culture and new technologies.
The traditional shirt belonged to Cuban diplomat and intellectual Raul Roa; Max Lesnick journalist based in the US; Sam Nujoma, former Namibian President; Architect Augusto Rivera Mas are now part of the 258th guayaberas that treasure the collection of the Municipal Initiative Project for the Casa de la guayabera Local Development.
Welcoming the participants to the event that will run until Sunday, the Director of the Casa de la Guayabera, Carlo Figueroa ratified that this activity will facilitate the dialog between art and telecommunications and information, above all if we take into account the particularities of the contemporary world where technology is present in all spheres of life.
La Guayabera 5.0 is also sponsored by the Provincial Office of the Ministry of Communications in Sancti Spiritus in addition to the sale of books and arts and crafts, conferences and workshops with figures like Dr. Melchor Gil Morell, founding Director of the University of Computer Sciences.
Among some of the entities present in the event are the Joven Computer Club with its services in the development of software and the La Mochila Project, Cuba's Telecommunications and Correos de Cuba, Radio Cuba and the provincial division of Desoft.
The Director of Desoft in Sancti Spiritus, Carmen Maria Alonso Brizuela said that this is an excellent opportunity to present the portfolio of products and services, establish accords, but also constitute a way of offering the new generation applications for each one of the centers.
A panel Culture Technology in the cultural management will be held on Friday and a conference entitled Risks in Informatics insecurity; only space which will promote a debate on how much can be done in the digital world to preserve information.
