State-of-art hospital in Cuban province opens new wings

MATANZAS, Cuba, Jan 4 (acn) The state-of-art Comandante Faustino Pérez hospital opened new wings for orthopedics, neurosurgery and intensive therapy, the latest stage in the construction of the main investment of the Health sector in the province of Matanzas.

Magaly Chaviano, provincial director of Health, told ACN that the hospital now has adequate, confortable rooms for hospitalization, in addition to improving care for the patient I serious conditions, a pressing need for the territory.
Among other areas of the center, Chaviano highlighted the quality of the intensive therapy wing with 12 beds, an intermediate therapy with capacity also for 12 people, and a place dedicated to attend patients with cerebrovascular diseases, one of the main causes of mortality in the province.
According to the official, in 2016, more than one million pesos were invested in the total construction of the hospital, and about two millions in equipment.
This institution already offers higher quality services, more prepared staff and modern technology recently acquired, which improves diagnostic and response capabilities as part of the patient care, Chaviano stated.
The investment process will continue all along this year and the Comandante Faustino Perez Hospital will be entirely repaired in 2018, said the official.
