Google and Cuba Sign Bilateral AccordHAVANA, Cuba, Dec 13 (ACN) Cuba's Telecom Company ETECSA and Google signed a bilateral accord Monday in Havana through which the US company offers the island its Google Global Cache service allowing Cuban users to connect faster to the contents on that popular browser.

The documents were penned by Google CEO Eric Schmidt, and by ETECSA CEO Mayra Arevich, Monday morning in Havana.

According to the information released at the signing ceremony, the accord will offer higher quality and speed services, and optimization of the Cuban company's network capacities. This means, that Cubans who have access to the Internet and use Google services will now see a quality improvement in downloading popular services like YouTube and others.

Google began its links to Cuba in 2014 with the launch of products such as Google Chrome, Google Play and Google Analytics. Just two months ago, free themes and extensions were opened for Cuban users to personalize their Chrome experience.
