Maduro: Fidel remains undefeated among us

Maduro: Fidel remains undefeated among usHAVANA, Cuba, Nov 30 (ACN) The Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said in his farewell speech at the Havana´s Revolution Square that Fidel Castro was not gone, that he will remain among us undefeated, acquitted by History.

During the mass assembly attended by hundreds of thousands of Cubans, and leaders from all over the world to pay tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Maduro delivered a moving speech.

He said Fidel had touched the lives of millions in Latin America and the world , and now it was our turn to raise the flags of independence, dignity and freedom of the peoples.

He added he was impressed by the amount of people that had gathered at the Jose Marti Revolution Square, along dignitaries from many countries, ¨Havana is overflowed with love!¨

Several times in his speech, Maduro recalled the great friendship between Fidel and late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, and said Chavez brother and two of his daughters had come to pay a late tribute to Fidel, among many top officials of his government.

¨We have all come to honor the eternal youngster, the eternal soldier and dreamer, the eternal rebel¨, somebody, he said, that fulfilled his mission in life, beyond the greatest expectations, in a complete and bright way.

The Venezuelan president highlighted Fidel´s role in the Bolivarian Revolution, that he was always ready to serve it, to send doctors for the poor, teachers to eradicate illiteracy, sport trainers to improve quality of life.

Without the support and solidarity of the Cuban Revolution at all times, the road would have been harder, the advances slower, he said, and ratified the Venezuelan people and government to continue supporting Cuba.
