HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 4 (acn) With balance of seven wins, Cuban Alejandro Valdés remains unbeaten in the German Wrestling League (Bundesliga), in which he competes for the SVG Weingarten, so far leader of the tournament.
Valdés, double Pan-American monarch, achieved his most recent win by technical superiority over Bulgarian Vladimir Dubov, whom he defeated 13-0 in a match in which his team tied 11-11 with the KSV Kollerbach.
In his previous bouts, Valdes (66 kg) beat Slovenian David Habat (13-1), Russian Alexander Semisorov (14-1), Romanian George Bucur (5-3), the host David Wolny (15-0), the also German Boris Diksu (15-0) and the Italian of Cuban origin Frank Chamizo (7-2), Las Vegas 2015 world champion and Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medalist.
In 2015, the Cuban wrestler finished with balance of nine wins and two losses in the Bundesliga, which is led this year by the SVG Weingarten ahead of KSV Ispringen, KSV Aalen 05, ASV Nendingen, TuS Adelhausen, KSV Kollerbach, VFK 07 Schifferstadt and ASV Mainz 88.
The also Cuban Mijaín López (130 kg), three-time Olympic champion, has not debuted yet in this contest; while his team-mate at the ASV Nendingen, Yowlys Bonne (66), lost 0-5 to Romanian George Bucur, 2014 world university runner up.
