Specialists work to restore Power Service in Areas Affected by MatthewGUANTANAMO, Cuba, Oct 31 (acn) Workers of the Electrical Company will not relent until the municipalities damaged by Hurricane Matthew regain this service, which has been restored at more than 90 percent.

Alfredo Lopez Valdes, Cuba´s Minister of Energy and Mines, told ACN there are still missing details to affirm that the power recovery is already fully complied, but almost all the damaged circuits, posts and transformers were repaired or replaced, in the case of the latter two.
He added that over 40 brigades of linemen who supported Guantanamo municipalities of San Antonio del Sur, Imías, Baracoa and Maisi, the most affected by Hurricane Matthew, have gradually returned to their respective provinces.
He further said that several brigades from Pinar del Río province will begin arriving today in order to guarantee electricity to those state and residential customers whose power service has not been restored by being in remote places or because their local and internal networks were severely damaged.
The Minister also praised the performance of engineers, technicians and linemen of the National Power Company, their sacrificing spirit and hearts, and loyalty to the Revolution.
