HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 20 (acn) Mr. Stanley Mutumba Simataa, President of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), arrived in Cuba yesterday on an official visit, CubaMinrex digital site reported.
The site further said that during his stay in our country, the diplomat will meet with Marcelino Medina, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, among other activities and meetings.
Mr. Stanley Mutumba Simataa was unanimously elected in 2015 to his current position in UNESCO and has since shown signs of closeness to the people and Government of Cuba.
In this regard, it is noteworthy that he sent a message of solidarity after the passage of Hurricane Matthew by Cuba.
