HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 23 (acn) Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro met Thursday with Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe, who paid an official visit to Cuba.
The top government Japanese official recalled Fidel´s visit to his country and its significance for the strengthening of bilateral relations of friendship between the Japanese and the Cuban people. Both Fidel and Shinzo Abe addressed the long-standing links between the two nations.
They also exchanged views on the world´s current challenges and dangers and on the need to strengthen efforts aimed at eliminating nuclear weapons and preserving world peace.
The meeting concluded with both leaders expressing their wish and confidence that Abe´s visit here will contribute to stronger relations of friendship, cooperation in the fight for the wellbeing of the countries that count on less resources.
