ARTEMISA, Cuba, Aug 2 (acn) Members of the Guillen Zelaya Chihuahua-Cuba (Mexico) Friendship Center are part of the 23rd Latin American and Caribbean Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba.
Maudelio de la Riva Palacios, president of the organization, told ACN that the group intends to hold exchanges with the people of the Caribbean nation about the process it has been building for over half a century to achieve progress in the economic, political and social spheres.
He added that they are grateful for being able to exchange ideas and experiences with other brigadistas from 15 countries in the region who, like them, have strong solidarity ties with Cuba and are inspired by the example of Fidel Castro.
The Chihuahua-Cuba Friendship Center is named after Guillen Zelaya, a native of Torreon, Coahuila, who left from Tuxpan to Cuba in the Granma yacht expedition to fight the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista, along with Fidel, Che and other revolutionaries.
