HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 8 (acn) The Cuban Parliament today adopted an update of the Social and Economic Guidelines for the country´s development up to 2021.
The guidelines, originally approved by the 7th Communist Party Congress, were submitted to deep analysis by the lawmakers during the last three days, prior to today´s 7th Session of the Parliament´s Eight Legislature, underway at Havana´s Conventions Palace.
In presenting the guidelines project for approval, the president of the Parliament´s Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Jose Luis Toledo, proposed that the guidelines be the focus of work by all state entities and officials, the government and the people.
A total of 274 guidelines for the 2016-2021 time period are encompassed in 13 chapters that have to do with all economic and social sectors. The updated document is a follow up on the implementation of the guidelines previously approved by the 6th Communist Party Congress.
Parliament President Esteban Lazo said that the implementation of the document involves everyone on the common objective to keep building prosperous and sustainable socialism.
