HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 24(acn) Army General Raul Castro, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, held at noon today a fraternal meeting with Nicolas Maduro, President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and bid him farewell at the airport.
The two heads of state exchanged views on issues of the bilateral agenda and the situation in the region, in particular the results of the extraordinary session of the Permanent Council of the OAS, which tried, unsuccessfully, to apply the Democratic Charter against Venezuela.
They also agreed on stressing the importance of the signing of the agreements between the Government of Colombia and the FARC-EP, and the need to continue contributing to the achievement of a final peace agreement in the South American country.
Raul reiterated Cuba's full support for President Maduro, the Bolivarian and Chavista Government and the civic-military union of the Venezuelan people.
Also participating in the meeting were First Combatant Cilia Flores and Vice-president and Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez, who arrived in Havana from Washington in the early hours of today's morning.
