The Cuban people, in their democratic right, are participating in the consultation process of the main documents that came out of the 7th Communist Party Congress and are conscious that, different from many other events that happen in the world, each action taken is historic and unique.
Once again the Homeland calls us to preserve our achievements, continue applying programs that benefit the population and save the dignity of the Cuban people by contributing with opinions that will allow enriching and improving the projects of the Conceptualization of the Economic and Social Model of Cuba's Socialist Development and National Plan of the Economic and Social Development until 2030.
People may have different and as many opinions, however, the Cuban people have a stamp that distinguishes us from other peoples in the world because we, the 11 million inhabitants, have achieved in coinciding with important points.
The concrete proposals to define the vision of a nation and its ideas and strategic sectors constitute an individual freedom of expression of each citizen but also should be a conscious action far from all vestiges of superficiality.
We should not forget that after over half a century of struggle, the Cuban people have the possibility of overcoming, organizing and directing ourselves through a socialist political system and this achieved principle is what we are now called for to preserve.
This is not new. The sense of unity passed down by our forefathers and founders of the Cuban nationality since the first call to freedom by Carlos Manuel de Cespedes and defended by different social classes: slaves or rich plantation owners who had the common element of loving their Homeland, independence and sovereignty.
Years later, Jose Marti interpreted the historic need of unity among the Patriots and founded the Cuban Revolutionary Party with the objective of maintaining as one group the veterans and new generation and eradicating the contradiction among the fighters.
Since then up until now, history has shown us the truth of the words of the Cuban National Hero when he said: "the Cuban people are not hordes, flock, or village. Together they want: to work together; together they are victorious...."
Once again, lets us go ahead as one in what we need at this moment and let us demonstrate to the world, how we have done it in previous occasions, what is the path we have chosen and our capacity to project our future.
As Marti said to the Homeland: ....."if I was useful before, I don't remember: what I want is to do more..."
