HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 20 (acn) The 2nd International Convention on Cuban Industry (Cubaindustria-2016) scheduled for June 20th to the 24th will commemorate half a century permanence at the United Nations for the Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Cuba.
Adriana BarceloPermuey, General Director of the Ministry of Industries Technological Management and Vice President of the organizing committee, told the Cuban News Agency that three important projects will be signed during the event contributing to the national economy.
She recalled that last December 2nd, Cuba signed the first Country Program Framework of the UNIDO for the 2016-2020 period contributing to the promotion of an inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
The attendance of representatives of regional institutions will be participating in the event to explore possible cooperation issues and exchanges with Cuban specialists.
Barcelo Permuy said that the cooperation areas with UNIDO are focused in the use of renewable energies, protection of the environment and the transference of modern technologies for the sector.
They also make up training of human resources required for the industry with different levels and types of specialization.
It also promotes the efficient use of technologies and the creation of productive capacities starting from the process of organizing the industry.
