Raul Presides Over Ceremony for 55th Anniversary of the Interior

MinistryHAVANA, Cuba, Jun 6 (acn) Army General Raul Castro, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (CC of the PCC) and President of the councils of State and Ministers, presided over the ceremony for the 55th anniversary of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT).

The ceremony, held on Monday at the Universal Hall of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), was also dedicated to the upcoming 90th birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and the 60th anniversary of the landing of Granma yacht and of the FAR.
Attending the celebration were members of the Political Bureau of the CC of the PCC and of the councils of State and Ministers, as well as founders, chiefs, soldiers, students, civil workers and pensioners of the MININT, and a representation of the FAR.
Vice Admiral Julio Cesar Gandarilla, First Deputy Minister of the Interior Ministry, read a congratulatory letter on behalf of Raul for the members of the institution, created on June 6, 1961.
The text makes an exhortation to continue defending the achievements of the Cuban Revolution, with the ethical and professional performance that characterizes MININT members.
