HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 4 (acn) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro arrived in the early hours of this Saturday in Havana to participate in the 7th Summit of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), underway at the Convention´s Center in this capital.
Upon his arrival, the Venezuelan head of state said he had come to continue with the Bolivarian diplomacy of peace and to make proposals to contribute to the development of the Greater Caribbean.
Maduro sent his special regards to the Cuban people, and said he wanted to keep the excellent relations with them, since there is a common history of struggle. ¨We do this for the present and future of the region¨
The Bolivarian leader said he is thrilled to have contacts with the Caribbean Heads of State and Government in order to work together to have a long-standing peace and to find solutions to the problems generated by the climate change.
He arrived in Havana accompanied by his wife, Cilia Flores, and Venezuelan Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez.
Today, the Heads of State and Government of the member countries of the ACS will discuss a document of solidarity with Venezuela against the attempts of the General Secretary of the Organization of American States to apply the Inter-American Democratic Charter for the South American nation
