In Cuba President of Regional Council of Martinique

HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 2 (acn) Alfred Marie-Jeanne, President of the Regional Council of Martinique, arrived here on Thursday to attend the Saturday sessions of the Seventh Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS).

The Caribbean leader expressed satisfaction for being in Havana, during a conversation with Maria Esther Reus, Cuban Minister of Justice, who officially received him at the Jose Marti International Airport.
Martinique is an island with the status of French overseas department and is one of the seven associates of the ACS.
The group, along with 21 observers and the 25 members of the AEC, will hold the seventh summit of the latter, almost a century after its creation in 1994 in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, following a decision of the Conference of Heads of government of the Caribbean Community, in 1992, at its special meeting in Port of Spain, capital of Trinidad and Tobago.
