HAVANA, May 18 (acn) Bolivian President Evo Morales will pay an official visit to Cuba on Thursday on the invitation of his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro.
"In Cuba we will exchange ideas on new Latin American and Caribbean integration programs," said Morales during the opening of a medical rehabilitation center in the eastern Bolivian region of Santa Cruz.
"I can recall the teachings of Fidel, he once told me that we must share the little we have and not what we have left," said Morales and added that Fidel is for him the most supportive man in the world.
The Bolivian president also thanked the assistance offered by the Cuban people to other countries despite the difficulties imposed by the US commercial, financial and economic blockade of the island nation.
Morales also denounced the destabilization-oriented actions by the right wing against progressive and anti-imperialist governments in the region.
This Friday Morales will be bestowed with the Jose Marti Order, the highest distinction the Cuban government grants, and will sign a cooperation agreement.
