HAVANA, Cuba, May 6 (acn) Representatives of all 25 nations making up the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) will hold the 7th Summit of the regional organization June 2-4 at Havana's Conventions Center.
The announcement, which was posted on the webpage of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, reads that seven associated nations and eight observer organizations, along with guests will also attend the summit.
The forum will adopt a declaration and a plan of action as it will contribute to consolidate the bloc´s renovation process that kicked off in 2013, the announcement explains.
ACS general secretary Alfonso Munera met in Havana with first deputy foreign minister Marcelino Medina last April 13 to address preparations for the summit.
They also considered the preparation of the documents to be considered at the event as well as the performance of the organization and Cuba's role while chairing its Council of Ministers until 2017.
The founding documents of the ACS were signed July 24, 1994 in Cartagenas de Indias, Colombia, with the aim of promoting consultation, cooperation and joint actions by all Caribbean countries.
