HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 21 (acn) Cuban workers throughout the island prepare massive mobilizations in support of the accords reached by the recent 7th Congress of the Communist Party as all unions and the non-state sector get ready to stage huge marches on May Day.
Cuban Workers Confederation leader Ulises Guilarte told Granma newspaper that workers have strong reasons to demonstrate with enthusiasm and activism on International Workers Day, and added that such action will be an expression of support to the main missions of the Cuban Communist Party, including economic development, the struggle for peace, unity and the firm ideology of the Cuban people.
The huge marches will be stage by both state and non-state workers in cities, squares, small settlements. In Havana, for instance, over 83 thousand people working in the non-state sector have confirmed participation at the march to be staged on the Jose Marti Revolution square.
