HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 18 (acn) As part of refurbishing actions of Havana's Capitol building, the Puerto Carena construction company is carrying out the rehabilitation of the streets and sidewalks of Industria and San Jose Streets in Centro Havana.
The work includes replanting trees in concrete recipients in order to avoid for the roots to break the sidewalks, said engineer Osmany Gonzalez, head of the company.
Due to the complexity of the construction work underway in the Capitol building there are several terminating stages and with the reparation of the exterior areas the first stage will soon be conclude, he said.
By the end of the week 15 trees should have been planted and there is a second moment where the rest will be placed in Industria and Dragones Streets, said Gonzalez.
He explained that the actions coincide with the rehabilitation of the underground networks on Prado Avenue with a complex task for companies like ETECSA, CUPET, Electric, Water and Roads.
The execution of the work in the future headquarters of the Cuban Parliament has an integral character and its objective is to rescue the original design and preserve the city's heritage, said Gonzalez.
The head of the work commented that despite the effects of the huge refurbishing in the area the population and visitors are grateful of the job underway offering a new look to this part of the city.
