Cuban Guerrero wins in debut in Brazil International Badminton Cup

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 11 (acn) Cuban Osleni Guerrero will seek today his second win in the International Badminton Cup based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, until February 13.

Guerrero, second seed in the men's individual event, will face in the second round American Bjorn Seguin for a spot in the round of eight.
On Thursday, he won on h is debut 2-0 (22-20 and 21-8) over German Nikolaj Persson, in 31 minutes, as reflected in the official site of the contest.
Austrian David Obernosterer, fourth seed of the event, Israeli Misha Zilberman (5), and Brazilian Daniel Paiola also remain in competition.
To Osleni each competition is fundamental in his desire to attend the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, which qualifying process closes next May 1st.
So far this season, the Havana-born athlete won the title at the tournament in Guatemala, contest in which he earned 2 500 points for the world ranking.
