Participants in Habanos Festival visit Pinar del Rio plantations

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 1 (acn) Attendees at the 18th Habanos Festival will make today a visit to the tobacco plantations in the province of Pinar del Rio, where they will know aspects related to the production of the aromatic leaf.

The delegates will share experiences with producers from that region, considered the best land to produce sleeves with which the renowned Cuban cigars in the international market are made.
The visitors will also have the opportunity to appreciate the beautiful landscape offered by the wooded hills that rise on the horizon and that characterize this area of high tourist attraction.
The new vitola of Hoyo de Monterrey Harvest 2012 was launched to market in the welcome activity held in the ancient Warehouse of Cigar and Wood, in Old Havana.
During the day it was also inaugurated The Trade Fair where products linked to tobacco farming, machinery, handicrafts, paintings and articles for smokers are exposed, in addition to Gourmet products.
The annual meeting organized by Habanos S.A. is attended by entrepreneurs, businessmen, collectors, sommeliers, tasters, directors, artists, producers, officials and diplomats, who will take part in seminars, tastings and pairings with rums and wines.
Currently , Habanos S.A. has 27 brands entirely produced by hand, which are distributed in more than 150 countries.
