HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 18 (acn) Army General Raul Castro, President of the councils of State and Ministers, received Ollanta Humala Tasso, President of the Republic of Peru, who is on an official visit to Cuba.
In a cordial atmosphere, on Thursday afternoon, the two leaders spoke about the state of bilateral relations and agreed on the mutual desire to further strengthen the historic ties that unite the two peoples. Also, they discussed topical regional and international issues.
The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Ana María Liliana Sanchez and Blanca Magali Silva, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and Tourism, respectively, and Hugo E. Jara Facundo, Ambassador to Havana.
Cuba was also represented at the meeting by Bruno Rodriguez, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Antonio Carricarte Corona, a.i Minister of Foreign Trade; Cira Piñeiro, a.i Minister of Education; and Sergio Gonzalez, appointed Ambassador to the Republic of Peru.
