Tribute to Fidel at Havana's Intl. Book Fair

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 18 (acn) A colloquium dedicated to the 90th birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, captures today the attention of the program of the 25th International Book Fair, Cuba 2016.

The meeting will be held at the Casa del Alba Cultural with the participation of Commander of the Revolution Guillermo Garcia, Abel Prieto, advisor to the President of the councils of State and Ministers, and journalist and researcher Katiuska Blanco, among others experts on the life and work of the Commander in Chief.
As part of the symposium, scheduled for four o'clock in the afternoon, a collection of texts on the Cuban historic leader will be presented.
At the same time, but at the Fortaleza San Carlos de la Cabaña, headquarters of the Fair, writer Jose Rolando Rivero will receive the Nicolas Guillen Poetry Award.
At the ceremony, to be held at the Nicolas Guillen Hall, the Alejo Carpentier prizes of Novel and Short Story to intellectuals Alberto Garrandes and Emerio Medina, respectively, will also be handed over.
