HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 16 (acn) Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, Vice-president of the Council of Ministers, held talks on Monday afternoon with Raul Fernando Sendic, Vice-president of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, who is in Cuba on an official visit.
During the fraternal meeting, both leaders highlighted the good progress of bilateral cooperation, especially the excellent work being done by Cuban physicians with the "Mission Miracle" at the "José Martí" Eye Hospital located in the city of Montevideo, and the success of the course on dairy offered to 20 Cuban technicians in the field last year in Uruguay. In this regard, the willingness of the two parties to continue working towards expanding and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation was reaffirmed.
Accompanying the distinguished visitor was Ana Olivera, First Deputy Minister of Social Development; Ariel Bergamino, Uruguay's ambassador to Cuba; and Daniel Fernandez, assistant to the Vice-president.
Cuba was also represented at the meeting by Antonio Luis Carricarte, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment; and by Foreign Ministry officials.
