HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 4 (acn) El Niño-Southern Oscillation phenomenon (ENSO) influences the weather in Cuba in February with expected rainfalls over normal totals, thunderstorms and floods, particularly in the western part of the country.
ENSO has continued to evolve as a strong natural event in the equatorial pacific and its influence on Cuba must last this month, experts say.
The advancement of thunderstorms lines linked to frontal systems from the Gulf of Mexico is to also impact Cuba.
The experts have predicted a cold and slightly cold month, with highest temperatures reaching normal levels for the month, and lowest below the usual in the whole country.
The first quarter of the year will witness higher chance of rains and thunderstorms, say the experts.
ENSO in the Pacific Ocean has caused severe impact on several regions with intense rains and floods in South America in particular, as well as severe drought in Indonesia, South of Africa and other geographical areas.
