HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 7 (acn) The first vice-president of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel, met on Thursday with Sigmar Gabriel, Deputy Foreign Minister (FM) and Minister of the Economy and Energy of the Federal Republic of Germany, who is on an official visit to Cuba.
During the meeting they reaffirmed the willingness to continue working on strengthening bilateral relations, and the willingness to increase bonds in the economic, commercial, cultural, scientific and educational sectors.
Present at the meeting were Thomas Karl Neisinger, German Ambassador to Cuba, and members of the official delegation accompanying the distinguished visitor.
Cuba was also represented at the meeting by Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, as well as by other officials of the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and the National Assembly of the People's Power.
The Federal Deputy FM also held meetings with the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez; Planning and the Economy and Foreign Trade and Investment, Marino Murillo and Rodrigo Malmierca, respectively. Meetings with the ministers of Energy and Mines, Alfredo Lopez; and Industry, Salvador Pardo, are scheduled for Friday morning.
